Back in August on a warm summer evening, Early Mountain Vineyards, located in the heart of the Blue Ridge mountains in Madison, Virginia celebrated in high style with DC based boutique Urban Chic showcasing the best styles for fall 2012.
Bloggers from both the Charlottesville and DC areas arrived to enjoy an evening of Virginia wines and shopped the latest trends from designer Rochelle Beherns, creator of The Shirt, browsing the colorful necklaces from Hyla DeWitt and chatting with stylist and owner of Spendalla Wardrobe Styling Wendy Pilch.
Urban Chic is known as a mainstay of the DC-area fashion community, hosting trunk shows, supporting community organizations, and producing a full-scale fashion show/charity benefit each fall - it was a natural partnership for Early Mountain Vineyards.
Notable guests included DC fashion bloggers and members of Capital Area Fashion and Beauty Bloggers (CAPFABB), Flavor Magazine columnist and Mix 107.3 radio host Brooke Ryan.
After everyone was served a glass of prosecco with wild hibiscus flower infused syrup, Jean Case, Owner of Early Mountain, warmly welcomed the guests and explained her passion for the winery and its dedication to promote all Virginia wines, happily saying “We love Virginia, and we believe that our state’s wine has the potential to compete with some of the best wine regions in the world.”
Wendy then went on to talk about the fashion trends for the fall season. Forget neons and brights, metallics and leather will be THE trends to wear. And as far as rules, there are none! Mixing and matching patterns such as polka dots with stripes is all the latest and white can certainly be worn way past Labor Day. She specifically focused on The Shirt, commenting on its perfect fit and delicateness for the modern women.
Fashion and wine makes for a perfect night!
